WHAT IS ODOUR SENSITIVITY TESTING?
Conducted at our UKAS-accredited odour laboratory in the grounds of Wrest Park in Bedfordshire, Odour Sensitivity Testing is an assessment of your individual odour sensitivity (or acuity) to n-butanol. Testing is conducted according to the method prescribed in the European Standard BSEN13725:2003 to choose odour panellists.
The process of Odour Sensitivity Testing usually takes no more than two hours, and the result will allow you to compare your personal odour sensitivity with the population average, or in the case of odour complaints, with the complainant’s odour sensitivity.
On completion of the Odour Sensitivity Test, we will provide you with a certificate demonstrating your participation. This can be used to show your compliance with odour management plans and IAQM odour surveys to the regulator or planner.
Many of our customers also use the Odour Sensitivity Test as part of their continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

Client testimonials
Don’t just take our word for it:
Six of our team attended the laboratory at Silsoe Odours for odour sensitivity testing. We deal with complaints about odour and thought it necessary to ensure that our noses were calibrated. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we would recommend their services.
