Silsoe Odours
1974
The Silsoe Research Institute was established and Robert Sneath appointed.
1991
Robert Sneath was appointed as Head of Olfactometry at the Silsoe Research Institute.
1995
Robert Sneath began his ongoing role as UK expert of the EU CEN working group TC264 WG2 “Odours”, developing the European CEN odour measurement standard EN13725:2003.
2005
Silsoe Odours was established at Wrest Park, Bedfordshire.
2006:
Launched our industry-leading training course, the Odour Study Day.
2008:
New state of the art olfactometer installed in the Silsoe Odours laboratory, allowing six Odour Panellists to assess odours simultaneously.
2013:
Delivered bespoke ‘Odour Training for Regulation’ course, receiving accreditation from Chartered Institute of Waste & Environmental Management.
2016:
Analysed more than 1,500 odour samples in the Silsoe Odours laboratory.
2017
Launched the Silsoe Odours summer internship programme.
2018:
The Odour Study Day received CPD-certification, endorsement from IAQM and CIWEM accreditation.
