Summer Intern Programme – Odour Management
Silsoe Odours is pleased to be offering a Summer Internship for 2018. This role is suitable for either a new graduate or current student. The candidate should be interested in pursuing a career in Environmental Consultancy, or in Environmental Health. Most especially, it would be of interest for somebody looking for Odour or Air Quality Consultancy roles. The role is available from May to August 2018. We are happy to consider flexible dates and either full or part time hours for the right candidate.
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to contribute to our odour panel when required. This will involve acting as an odour assessor in our UKAS-accredited odour laboratory. The remainder of your time will be spent gaining experience in different types of odour consultancy projects. Primarily, you will shadow and support the company Director, as well as our Senior Site Sampling Technician. You will visit various sites to assist with odour sampling, prepare analysis reports and also learn how to run the odour laboratory.
The successful candidate must be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a relevant BSc or MSc (such as Environmental Management). You must be committed to a career involving the assessment and management of odours, and you will be required to successfully complete the selection process for our odour assessors. Your own transportation is essential, as we are in a rural location which is difficult to reach by public transport.
The salary offered is £8.86 per hour.
Please send us your CV, together with a covering letter explaining why you would like to be considered for the role. No agencies please.
